Filling out this survey made me feel heard. It's cool to have a say in what goes on at our school.

Frequently asked questions

SNA Toolbox provides a hidden key to understanding the impact of peer influence on student learning and wellbeing. Using social network mapping, we unlock insights into informal student culture and their ‘unwritten code of conduct’, which can differ markedly from formal school values and expectations.

SNA stands for Social Network Analysis and is a way of representing and analysing peer relationships as a network of connections. SNA is key to the innovative way we measure social wellbeing.

Only approved school staff with individualised usernames and passwords will have access to the report.

Our reports provide quantitative metrics into academic, mental and social wellbeing. Social network maps are a key component of our reports, and you can zoom into, manipulate and use them to identify student social connectedness and social wellbeing. We conduct and interpret state-of-the-art network statistics to give schools suggested actions for improving student learning, wellbeing and culture.

SNA Toolbox has everything standard surveys have PLUS maps of social connectivity between students. In addition, you can add in data you already have on students (e.g., performance, attendance) and SNA Toolbox will analyse this together with the student attitudes and peer influence survey data to give you new insights on your existing school data.

The reports provide information at multiple levels of analysis for your school. Reports provide information about individual students and whole year levels. Depending on the type of report you select for your school, specific groups of students (e.g., classrooms) can also be a focus.

Our data is securely stored within Australia, and the integrity of our software has been thoroughly assessed by the Cybersecurity Laboratory at Swinburne University of Technology.

The SNA Toolbox Privacy Policy adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles.
