Student Metrics for Academic, Mental and Social Wellbeing

What if your school had a ‘NAPLAN for wellbeing’? Imagine you had measures beyond academic performance, and also had information of the learning relationships your students are engaged in and who they get meaningful feedback from. Imagine you had measures of their mental wellbeing. Imagine you had data on their peer-to-peer interactions - not just friendships, but also who students think are influential, as well as who disrespects them.

At SNA Toolbox, we give your school systematic, data-informed analytics on individual students, across a whole year level and whole school student academic, mental and social wellbeing.

SNA Toolbox is a unique online network survey and rapid reporting platform that provides a student perspective on peer influence - not a teacher-focused viewpoint - making it a student-centric approach to understanding student interactions with their peers.

Our highly visual and statistically based reporting platform is underpinned by world-leading research and expertise in social network analysis (SNA) yet the reports present information simply and clearly to school leaders and wellbeing staff.

SNA Toolbox’s platform is based on over 100 years of social science research. We use internationally recognised survey measures and world-leading network data analysis techniques to provide an evidence-base of student academic wellbeing, mental wellbeing and social wellbeing. Combined with world-leading expertise in SNA, we provide actionable insights on student social connections - insights not possible through other non-network approaches.

  • Academic wellbeing: We combine your school's data on student academic performance with student online survey data that represents the student's view of their own capabilities (i.e., growth mindset, self-evaluation of academic achievement) to provide a measure of each student's academic wellbeing.
  • Mental wellbeing: We use internationally renowned and standard mental health measures (i.e, K6) to provide a measure of each student's mental wellbeing.
  • Social wellbeing: We use unique SNA measures to map, analyse and interpret the peer relations of students in your school, providing a measure of each student's social wellbeing.

SNA Toolbox - applying world-leading research capabilities to real-world school issues.
